Robots That Vacuum And Mop: 11 Thing You're Not Doing

Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet messes in one session and without the need to switch between devices. They also can save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the simplest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you up and running with a clean and complete dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in no time.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that is able to clean up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app which lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.

You can, for example request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and its smart navigation technology are excellent too as the robot is capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only drawback is that it tends to hit objects and walls at a high speed, but a quick glance at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and the obstacles it's run into or avoided.

A convenient LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance tasks are required like emptying the debris tray and rinsing its dirty water tank. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank, using a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time and the mop is able to operate for 184 minutes in Quiet mode and the vacuum capable of running for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or return to the base to replenish. The app is easy to use and intuitive and lets you view all the details of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's most popular robot mop and vacuum, is the most up-to-date version. The model this year has a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This enhances the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that allows it to pick up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners may miss.

Like the two other Roborock models I've tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which can help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and includes two cameras that can recognize objects, determining if they're walls or other surfaces. It can then automatically change its direction and clean the objects without a pause.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also loaded with features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which also resumes the cleaning mop button, which doubles up as a child-lock and a home-button that can send the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is self-emptying and the bin is auto-refilling.

The only issue I encountered in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off for manual washing. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and could cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app is where you can manage and configure these advanced features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's life. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to enable voice control with this model, which is a shame considering how well it performs otherwise.

It can also get under furniture that is low-profile, making it an excellent option for apartments with small spaces or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots. This is a nice touch that assists the X40 avoid damaging floors with the frequent back-and-forth movement.

Unlike  autonomous vacuum  that solely focus on one task, the X40 is capable of performing both vacuuming and mopping simultaneously or individually. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas, and vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.

The app is intuitive and user-friendly, and the X40's smart features are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, switch modes, look at floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to keep clean and has many convenient features that make it a great choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, then refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It can also detect when the mop pad is full and alert you before it gets overflowing, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive available, but it packs in a lot of additional features that distinguish it from. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This uses two high-speed mops to scrub floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it has a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, dirt particles and remove spills and dirt-stained spots.

The mop is cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is an excellent feature since it prevents the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and it also makes mop systems more efficient.  robot vacuum cleaner amazon  is an option we haven't seen in other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.

There's an impressive amount of settings available that include the ability to schedule cleaning and adjust a number of different preferences. They can be set through the app, or via direct buttons on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and offers many options to customize the cleaning routine, and there are numerous features that other robots do not have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of using the manual setting.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks sophisticated and classy. It's a little heavier than the other two-in-one robots on this list, at 4kg but it's not too heavy, and feels sturdy and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
